Chris Anderson, the founder of TED said that…”Viral Movements are the result of 3 things- crowds- light- desire.” Erwin McManus then interprets those elements to mean… people, exposure, and passion.
1. People
If you are a leader with a great vision, and you’re the only one excited about it, that is…a lonely place to be. Vision has to be passed to others, as the saying goes, “vision is caught not taught.”A real big God vision is first authored by God, and therefore He brings people into your path that are like-minded or open to what God is doing. If you take “ownership” of the vision, that is a place of pride, and God “opposes the proud.” So if you have a vision, and nobody is wanting to follow it, go back look at the authors name, and make sure it says, “God Almighty.”
2. Exposure
You have to sow seeds of the vision on fertile ground. A lot of ground! The real key to that in our culture is Social Media. I have made so many contacts, and have had the opportunity to network with national leaders that has allowed The COMB Network to take off, and gain real strength. If your vision is large or small, you will need the input, support, encouragement & ideas of others. A great place to get this is through establishing real relationships via Social Media. (FYI I don’t really “enjoy” doing Social Media, but I know it is absolutely vital!)
3. Passion
Passion is the fuel on which your vision will fly. If you aren’t passionate about the vision, you will crash and burn. I have found this goes back to the beginning, making sure the vision is authored by God. If not, you tire and grow weary. Even when the vision is God authored, it will require frequent extended times with God to get refueled, redirected & reminded. All of those are necessary to keep the vision in the air!

What I wonder about is if these have to just be something you have or something you cultivate?
I mean I think the obvious thing is to say that you can cultivate these and that you will have to cultivate these. But I have noticed that some people just have all three of these.
I would say in some ways it takes some luck and grunt work as well.

Great question Kyle. I would say you would have to be granted them as a “gift” first. Those types of gifts are handed down from the Father. But, it aso takes great work! Like God giving the Israelites the promised land as a gift, but they had to work their butts of to actually “take” it!
Unfortunately, I’m at the level of an old MEATLOAF song. Need to get better and more consistent with #2.
Thanks, Artie!

Yeah, that #2 is a hard one Buddy. It’s like you have to be in the right place at the right time, work hard with excellence and network with the right people. It takes a lot.
I think you nailed them.
